126 "Information systems and technologies" the first (bachelor's) level of higher education
The purpose of the program "Intelligent Information Technology (IT Project Management & DevOps)" (specialty 126 "Information Systems and Technologies") - to gain in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and understanding of information systems and technologies (IST), which contribute to social sustainability and mobility of the graduate in the labor market, as well as enable them effectively to perform innovative tasks of the appropriate level of professional activity, which focuses on research and solution of complex problems of design, deployment, integration and testing, implementation and operation of IST in various fields of human activity, national economy and production.
Ability to use in-depth theoretical and fundamental knowledge, skills and abilities successfully to solve complex specialized problems and practical problems during professional activities in the field of information systems and technologies or in the learning process, which involves the application of certain theories and methods of science and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions.
In the conditions of modern information society, which is actively formed in Ukraine, the IT industry is constantly undergoing transformations. In recent years, the processes of technological transition from the use of local data centers, hosting applications such as client-server to cloud technology solutions with a virtual infrastructure based on public or hybrid clouds, or their combination have been intensified. The key attributes of cloud technologies and their applications are the widespread use of information technology microservices and communications, implemented by means of programming application interfaces. The main reason for such changes is the need for the fastest, most complete and high-quality information needs of the customer by introducing an effective information system or technology with the necessary functionality. Project activities in the IT field require the performance of numerous tasks, rigidly or flexibly interconnected: some intermediate tasks cannot be implemented until other tasks are completed; other tasks must be performed in parallel, etc. If the synchronization of different tasks is violated, the whole project may be in danger of failure.
To ensure high competitiveness, progressive companies are actively developing strategies for IT transformation and flexible adaptation of their computer, telecommunications and information-analytical infrastructures based on the use of design technologies. This, in turn, generates the need to implement a new paradigm of integration and administration of various components of information systems, called Development and Operations (DevOps), which in Ukrainian can be interpreted as development and support (integration), as well as understanding of thr project management processes in IT . Analysis of global educational proposals of leading universities in terms of studying the issues of IT project management, dynamic integration and adaptive administration of distributed information systems and technologies shows that it is reflected both in individual courses and in integrated educational areas of the master's level. DevOps courses are taught, in particular in Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA) in the context of training for the Engineering for Professionals program and in Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA). The DevOps training program was also launched by Microsoft in the DevOps Institute, which certifies graduates based on the seven core competencies of DevOps. Advanced training on the basis of Soft Serve can be considered As an example of educational activities in the profile of DevOps.
At the same time, there is practically no corresponding domestic university educational and professional proposal in the sector of dynamic integration and flexible administration of information systems and technologies. Despite the rapid development of the Ukrainian IT industry, which is largely focused on providing outsourcing services, there is an urgent need for specialists with a deep systematic understanding of modern information technologies and systems, honed skills and competencies for their system integration and administration, highly skilled system communicators, developers and operators of modern information systems. Some attempts to cover such a staff shortage by domestic domestic IT companies alone are insufficient.
The educational and professional program aims to provide bachelors with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and understanding of project management processes, team management and project resources using specific methods through which the project is completed successfully and achieves its goal, construction, integration and administration.
