Educational and professional program "Computer Linguistic Technologies" (Master)

Developed by two departments of Lviv Polytechnic (Department of Applied Linguistics and Department of Information Systems and Networks) educational and professional program "Computer Linguistic Technologies" combines two basic components, namely - computer information technologies and linguistic technologies, which basically belong to profiles of specialties in the fields of "Information Technology" and "Humanities".

The goals of  "Information Systems and Technologies" program are to provide in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are sufficient for the successful performance of professional duties and scientific approaches in the specialty 126 "Information Systems and Technologies"; in the formation of the general principles of the methodology of scientific and professional activities, as well as the relevant competencies sufficient for the effective implementation of scientific, industrial, managerial tasks with innovative nature for further successful employment of

To provide students with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge, skills and understanding of information systems and technologies (ICT) that contribute to the social sustainability and mobility of graduates in the labor market, as well as enable them effectively to perform innovative tasks of the appropriate level of professional activity aimed at the  research and solution of complex problems of design, deployment, integration and testing, implementation and operation of ICT in various fields of human activity, national economy and production.

Masters study software means and technologies for IT project management, methodology for managing research and development of projects and programs, methods of IT projects using CASE-technologies, evaluation of stages and final results of IT project work and implementation of IT project parameters, principles of construction and features of functioning of modern computer systems, information and computer networks, normative and legal documents and methodology of project documentation formation concerning IT projects.

The educational and scientific program is based on the fundamental postulates of system analysis and the results of modern scientific research in the field of innovative development of the theory and practice of systems analysis. It is aimed at topical aspects of the specialty, when further scientific career is possible.

Data Science is science about  methods of data analyzing and obtaining of important information and knowledge. It uses methods and theories taken from many areas of mathematics, statistics, computer science. It is closely intertwined with such areas as Machine Learning, Cognitive Science, technology for working with Big Data.

Business intelligence (BI) comprise methods and means for converting the unprocessed  information into reasonable, convenient forms that are used for business analysis.

BI technologies process large amounts of unstructured data for strategic business opportunities. New opportunities and the implementation of the effective knowledge-based strategy can provide companies with a competitive advantage in the market and long-term stability.

Specialty 124 "Systems Analysis" at the second (master's) level of higher education contains the following educational programs:

1. Systems and methods of decision making (Business Analysis, BA)
2. Consolidated information (Business Intelligence, BI)
3. Data analysis (Data Science, DS)
4. Computer linguistic technologies
5. Systems analysis (2-years, SA)
